Connectivity:
The connectivity is directly provided by I.Net. It is connected through 8 loops: 2 x STM1 (155Mbit) and 2 x STM4 (622Mbit) TLC Highways and the same number of Albacom. The loops STM1 are point-to point links to 4 different routers (n.4 Cisco 7500). The loops STM4 use a CISCO DPT technology (Dynamic Packet Transport) involving the 4 above mentioned 7500, interconnected to form a a closed loop loro STM4. This technology, allowing full redundancy on both nodes or lines, is operated at 2, featuring circuit switching time of less then 50 milliseconds. The failure of a router or a line is thus invisibile to the users. Nation-wide I.NET features interconnections, direct to MIX (Milan Internet eXchange) based on GigabitEthernet (2 x 1 Gbps) technology, the Italian node where the main Italian ISP are linked. The availability of the network nominal band is retad 99,99% for the 99,9% of the time.
